Blytheville High School Students are among those named Student of the Month at ANC Tech Center.
“Here at the Tech Center, we strive for excellence. I am proud to announce that each of your districts has students who have been selected as the Student of the Month for September. Each teacher was asked to choose one student in their course that displayed excellence academically and behavior-wise. The following students received a Student of the Month certificate and a gift card and will have their achievements displayed on the ANC Tech Center Wall of Fame and Facebook page. Each student will also be invited to the May end-of-the-year Student of the Month luncheon. BHS Students have the opportunity to attend Arkansas Northeast College & Tech Center as part of their school day starting in the 10th grade. ANC Tech Center provides students with job-specific skills through coursework and training for jobs in our area. They provide several areas to choose from including but not limited to Computer Information Systems, Industrial Technology, and Welding. In order to attend, BHS Students must meet requirements during the years leading up to current enrollment to be considered by counselors. Students must meet credit requirements to be on track for graduation, must conduct themselves in a professional manner, and must exhibit work-readiness skills, among other things. It is part of our vision here at BHS to develop students’ ability to build and reflect on a growth mindset and demonstrate ownership over one’s learning. Taking ANC Tech Center classes is one way that students are able to do just that.
