Reuther harvest
BHS Culinary students were able to cook with herbs grown in the classroom this week. Mrs. Byrd’s class harvested parsley and cilantro from the classroom hydroponics tower system that was purchased last school year through a CTE Carl Perkins Project. They used the herbs to make sauce for pizzas, as well as, alfredo sauce for chicken alfredo.

In order to be in Culinary, students have to had previously taken Food Safety and Nutrition class and passed the ServeSafe certification test. Culinary students occasionally cook lunches that teachers can purchase to recover some of the cost of the food supply. Teachers look forward to those special days every year.
